Mary Wilson of the Supremes Has Passed

While they were never one of my big faves musically, the Supremes were indisputedly part of the fabric, part of the very warp and woof of my early life. They came to prominence at a time when very, very few paths to a decent life were open to black women.

The Boomers. We're dropping like flies.

Life: Nobody gets out alive.

So, folks, all I've got to say is, "Go LIVE your life to the fullest, because you're a long time dead."

For Ms. Mary Wilson, from Ms. Mary Wilson: Some Day We'll Be Together.

Yes, we will!

Death be not proud.

The days of the blue eyed soul fanciers. I'm remembering record players in basement rec rooms, and 19th Nervous Breakdown being played in the same setting. Good ole Barry Gordi days. RIP

The Supremes were in fact supreme, the harmonies were amazing, the songs were addicting and Mowtown brought an entire brand of music into households it had never been before, RIP Mary.
