I don't see a double standard. I don't have a problem with a 40 year old woman marrying a 20 year old guy. I just have a problem with a 30 something teacher banging a 12 year old.

Well, this was some time ago. I imagine that many were still in elementary school then.

As for Vili and his family suing the Police and the School System "for failing to protect" - what a load of crap. One moment they are denying that he was not taken advantage of - the next moment they launch a civil suit claiming the opposite.

As for Letourneau - she was found guilty for having sex with a preteen (he was 12!)

Just insane.

I feel sorry for the kids involved. Especially the four that she had previously. They must be so ashamed of her. It was a sick thing that she did. He was 12yrs old. Any adult messing with a 12yr old deserves a serious azz whooping imho. But 7yrs in jail is ok, too.
