Martin Luther King Jr.- What a great person...

He is my role model. He was so courageous as to sacrifice his life to make other people's lifes better. He knew he was going to get shot, but he still fought for his rights. Now look at the US now. The U.S is not very racist anymore, thanks to Martin Luther King Jr. . I fully respect Martin Luther King Jr. Does anyone else think Martin Luther King is a great person??

Definitly, just goes to show you that one person with a vision can make a difference. A truly courageous rolemodel. You know what makes me sick though? I saw something up on a KKK site one time (checked it out to laugh at it), and they had rumours posted about MLK, claiming he had a "bizarre sex life". Even if he did, does that mean he was less of a human? That kind of stuff pisses me off and makes me appreciate people like MLK even more!

No longer segregated, but racist? Oh yes we've got racism abroad unfortunately.

It makes me sick. Racism is nothing more than a smokescreen; it obscures progress of the one and only real race: the human race.

Pretender, I'd say so. I think he did know he was gonna get killed sooner or later. After his home got bombed I'd say he knew someone was out to get him. Imagine going up against a whole nation's beliefs that are against you, wouldn't you think you'd get killed sooner or later?

you're indeed right that racism is still very much alive in the u.s. today. even some segregation in terms of who lives in what neighborhood...or even who goes to what university or who gets what job. unfortunately, that's the way things are. on the brighter note, you guys must agree that color awareness is being improved each and every day.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was indeed a great man. If he knew he was going to die, he still would have marched for the cause. His death resulted in his martyrdom. I think the U.S. would be completely different if not for his death.
