mars volta vs system of a down

Well, I'd really love to see The Mars Volta live but I've heard that they suck the proverbial cock in person.
I'd probably rather not see System live as I'm not big into that scene and there would just be too many freaks there I'd imagine.

i think the mars volta live depends on how sober/wasted they are as i have heard they are great and terrible when too wasted.

i have seen the mars volta and they suck. they just jerk around and make noise for 30 minutes, then expect the audience to rip off their girl-pants and suck their emaciated penises. this is a nice interpretation. biggest bunch of pretentious assholes on the planet. if they didn't have that drummer, no one would give a fvck about them.

I saw them both at the same concert. Ive said it before, and Ill say it again. Mars Volta was so bad it was scary. I mean they were just downright terrible. Ive got their albums, and theyre not bad. But they were a mess in concert. It was like they didnt do soundcheck, you couldnt hear the drummer, and the guitar was way too loud, drowning out the singer. But even if their acoustic were right, it would still have been an hour of pure audial torture. They didnt play songs. They just stood up there for pretty much the whole time randomly jamming. Which would have been alright if it didnt sound like a child being beaten while nails are screeching on a blackboard in a factory, while what sounds like a castrated falsetto dressed like a girl in high heels with the biggest afro ever was crying about something in another language. If thats your cup of tea, then yeah, they rocked. I had to leave the arena and smoke some crystal meth with the biggest crowd Ive ever seen outside of a concert to dull the pain.
 
SOAD for the win. Their first album was great. 2nd was good. 3rd sucks.

But damn TMV is a crappy concert band. No fun. I'd rather spend my money for something fun and energetic.

i downloaded, yes downloaded (torrent) all of their albums yesterday after they were mentioned a bunch of times in that other thread, seeing as everyone said they kicked ass i have them a listen, prob listned to 2/3 of each album in the torrent and then promptly deleted it all from my computer, holy sh!t i havent heard music that bad in my entire life, i rather listen to nsync or the backstreet boys then that and they also really really suck
