On a more serious note, I would have less of a problem with the Chinese space program's intentions if it were a bit more transparent and not as closely linked with their military space program.

You do know that, JFK era idealism notwithstanding, we have a massive history of secret military purposes hidden in our space operations?

Let's not forget that our early space program was military based too. And it still has a large military aspect to it, not really all that different that the Chinese except we are a little more open about it.

What is the ratio between our military/intelligence to science missions? I wouldn't be surprised if there are more military/intelligence launches.
