Finally! The Bundy's get the season-by-season DVD treatment they deserve!!!

I never bought the "Best Of" crap... hoping for this day. 🙂

Sweet, I used to watch that late at night with the volume turned way down so my parents couldn't hear.

They wouldn't have approved.

😀

I'll have to add this to my Netflix rental queue.

Rip, encode, and return.

That's my motto.

I was 19 when this series first aired. 😛

Why do that? Don't you think that the actors, directors and producers deserve the royalties they will lose if you steal their DVD? Pay the lousy $20 for the set.

If it's $20 I'll probably just buy it.

I buy all my music, I generally buy very few DVD's. I won't download movies/music, but I'm relatively OK with renting & ripping.

Small difference I suppose.

It's $22 at DDD. Come on, most of these guys ended up type cast and couldn't go on with their acting careers. The least you could do is buy their DVD.

You don't need to lecture me on supporting the artists, I'm completely in favor of purchasing music & movies. I guess that's why I won't download but I'm relatively OK with renting & ripping. At $22 though I can just buy it.

Sorry. 🙁

Despite all its crassness, Married with Children really was a great show. It was something totally different than all of the Growing Pains/Family Ties/Cosby Show stuff when it came out. In some ways the show was more realistic than the other family sitcoms of the day. But it was also so totally extreme that you just had to laugh, because it was completely unrealistic.

Ed Oneil should have won an Emmy for that performance. (Emmy is the TV awards, right?)

It was good until after the third season, when it started getting to "cartoon-ie". Actually, when Steve left and was replaced by Jefferson (Ted McGinley, the partron saint of Jumping the Shark 🙂 ), it started getting pretty bad. We do have Married with Children and The Simpsons to thank for today's crass TV shows though. Before them, everything was a wholesome, family oriented vomit fest 😛

That is a misrepresentation of the Simpsons. All of their older shows had an ethical foundation, and they are a close family unit. Many of the shows deal with ethical-type problems, and at the end the character usually ends up choosing the "right" path. The Bundys, on the other hand, are pure unadulterated white trash. 😀

Yes, but for all the trashiness, they NEVER cheated on each other, and always stuck up for each other in the end. At it's base, Married With Children DID display basic family values.

Not True! There are many fine episodes after McGinley joined the show. The two losers were Seven (the true point at which the show jumped the shark), and when they followed Vinnie Verducci (Joey from friends) and his dad in 1991 (that almost killed the show early). Other than that, the show was almost always good.

And who can forget Miranda Veracruz de la Jolla Cardenal 😀 Classic!!!
