Guys, what did your wives do with their wedding dresses?
Ladies, did you keep it? sell it?
If you/your wife sold it, where did they sell it?

I need to sell mine, and i am not sure where i should do it.
Craigslist.org? ebay? a consigment shop?

any other ideas?

Was looking at your photo album earlier this week.
Loved your wedding dress.

Dont suppose the cute young bridesmade was your single sister?

EDIT: Oh, and my mom got a simple yellow thing when she was wed in England.
Actually, I think it was a loaner and she gave it back to her friend after the Honeymoon.

We paid a good sum of money to a drycleaner to package it up for storage. From there it spent the next 10 years in the corner of her closet.

We ended up donating it to a local charity, I suppose they resold it in their store.

Didn't wear a 'wedding dress' so I can't help you there. Consignment shop would probably be the simplest, but you'd probably get more for it selling it on eBay. If it is a 'designer' label, you probably will be able to sell it really fast.

well, my bridesmaid is my cousin, however, i will be honest with you in saying that she is a prudish, stuck up bitch that i would not want my worst enemy to date. sorry.

its somewhat of a designer dress but not a vera wang or anything like that.
The problem with ebay is that i am seeing most dresses not go for anything (around $75 for a 500$ dres)

I was thinking consigment shop too, but doesnt it work that i take it there and i don't get the money until they sell it?

Selling it is cool. Wifey's is in the attic in a box.....a waste if you ask me.

Yeah, that's how it works. They keep a percentage of the price it sells for.

My wife also insisted on have hers sealed in a special box shortly after we got married 15 years ago & within said box it sits to this day.

Good luck selling yours, I think the consignment-shop idea is the best bet.

My wife used my mother's wedding dress and they were the same size so no alterations were needed. We did pay ~$200 for drycleaning though. Afterwards we gave it back to my mother.

My wife sold hers through a consignment shop and got almost what she paid for it. Needless to say, I am now a big fan of consignment shops. You may have some trouble selling your dress though, since you are such a slender gal. Much easier for dresses to be taken in during alterations than let out. It's also easier for the shop to sell a dress that is a little too big since the shoppers can try them on and pin the dress to have an idea of what it will look like when altered.

good luck whichever way you go. The wife and I decided we would rather have a getaway weekend in Lake Tahoe than reserve a shelf in the attic for the rest of our lives.
