My concern is monetary, of course, but then again I must also think that she brings this up two days before we leave. It's only been a year and a half in the making 😕 We are getting gifts for the groomsmen and brides maids. Lola would also like to get gifts for:

Her mother and her mother's fiance
Her father and her step-mother
My parents
Her grandmother
Her two great aunts

I think thats it.

If you want to do it "Hawaiian Style" get them some really nice leis and give it to them to wear at the wedding. I'm not talking about the cheap ones from the airport, but the ones from florists.
It's a really nice gesture to family members and it's inexpensive. Being in numerous hawaiian weddings, giving close loved ones(like the people who raised you) leis is expected.

Also, don't forget to give your husband to be a maile lei to wear at the wedding.

She want to get them freaking hankerchiefs, dude.

If this is something that would bring her even a shred of additional happiness, then let her freakin have it. It may seem wasteful or silly to you, but, to her, it will be something she looks back on with fondness. As you settle into your mundane lives and get caught up with kids and saving for retirement and jobs and getting by, you will bemoan every lost opportunity to show her, in an honest to gosh way, how much you'd do for her....even something as seemingly as small as this...............wouldn't you?
