K, so I've been married for a little over 12 years, been with her for 18 total. Like me, she is in her mid-thirties, but still looks like early to mid-twenties. She is a very attractive woman that gets hit on quite a lot. Which is the point of this thread...

Does it wig you out when your SO gets hit on a lot.

For me, it doesn't bother me in the least unless it becomes a incessantly repeated effort by the same individual. Which has happened several times, but most of the time they respect the fact that she is happily married and leave it at that. On the occasions that it did happen, I usually confronted the individuals with threats of bodily or social harm.

I agree, it doesn't bother me even a little but if it's the same person that does it over and over that knows shes married, then it *might* start to bug me.

It's never gotten to the point though where I needed to threaten someone, my wife is good enough at telling someone off. :p

My wife goes to the Y during the day when all the older folk are working out and she tells me all the stories about getting hit on. Doesn't bother me.... now if it were a hot lady hitting on her... that really wouldn't bother me ;)

My wife gets hit on at the stores and then comes home and tells me about it! LOL
No, it doesn't bother me at all.

Crap I would have voted for option 3 but I jumped the gun.

It normally doesn't bother me. In fact my wife used to work as a waitress at a popular pub and wear hoochie shirts to work. If that doesn't bother you than nothing will... cuz I've been to that pub many times and checking out the waitresses was always one of the big draws.

Only by the morons who still do that crap once they find out she is married or have already known.

Otherwise, you can't blame someone if they don't know.

It's hard man. The girl I'm seeing now, no it doesn't bother me. She's 29, and a hair stylist so I know she gets hit on every day. But she's very upfront about who she is and what she wants. Right now that's me. Could that change, sure it could. But I respect this girl enough to believe that she'll respect me in return.

Now my ex, also a hair stylist and 38, that's another story. She's drop dead gorgeous, and a very sensual person. She knows she is, but not only won't she admit, she'll say she's not that way. she got hit on a lot, but she always came home to me. The problem I had with her was she was not very honest with me. Rather than tell me the truth and let me make a decision on my own based on facts she told me what she thought I wanted to hear most of the time.

It's like night and day between my ex and the new girl. Will she hang out around other guys as friends, sure she will. She's new to this area and is making new friends. But I believe her in her values and who she is as a person so I trust her. She has said that as her and I progress, if we get serious, that she always puts that relationship as a priority first. So I'll just have to see if I continue to make the cut ;).

Actually, I'm kind of happy that guys hit on my wife because it makes her feel attractive, and I know that she's 100% true to me. I've seen it happen first hand in Vegas (I was standing far enough away that nobody associated me as the husband). Its nice to know that the fellas want what I've got - but I'm not sharing.

Doesn't bother me. Both of us are oblivious when other people hit on us... And we pretty much realize it a day later or something...

(Single guy here)

It would bother me if it bothered her. Like, if it was the same guy harassing her all the time.
I'm sure most women have had enough practice from a lifetime of being hit on to deal with it.

Nope. Not at all. In fact, it's good for your spouse's ego to get hit on once in awhile. The only way it would bother me is if it was a friend of ours. That would affect my relationship with that person, but not with my spouse. But I don't have friends who are the type to disrespect me in that way, so it's never been a problem and I don't see it ever being a problem. I guess I'd also feel irked if my spouse felt harassed by that person, like if it was interfering with the workplace environment, but I'd expect my spouse to handle that without my interference.

Nah, I actually like it. :D We were walking through a parking lot recently and some guys rolled down their windows and yelled "hey you have a hot wife!" I yelled back "hey thanks!" :D Not sure why they assumed she was my wife, we're only 25.

If we're at a bar and she tells me she is being hit on, this is my usual reply.
"Well, get the hell away from me then. He won't buy you drinks if he thinks you're here with someone else and you've already sucked my wallet dry."
I couldn't care less.
Now her on the other hand.....shes a jealous one (but she knows it and tries to keep it under control)

Because you weren't holding hands :)

It doesn't bother me...more than anything my wife is (or at least acts) clueless a lot of times, so sometimes if I'm standing away from her but within earshot I'll get amused when a guy hits on her and she thinks he's actually interested in what she's saying :) j/k

Doesnt bother me unless they disrespect me while doing it. It's one thing if they hit on my gf if they dont see me or if they dont know Im in the picture, but if they try to disregard me, then we have a problem.

It bothers me....but I'm not the jealous type. It's just that I get angry at people who DISRESPECT our marraige by hitting on her.

For example, the other night, an older married man propositioned her... She was tore up over it because she was backed into a corner at work and it made her feel uncomfortable... I would have liked to beat him in the face with a 2X4 or at least yell at him in front of his wife (who was in the hospital for some reason). There are some extremely rude and disgusting people out there and I sincerely wish bad things on them....furthermore, I feel bad for his poor wife...
