Hello, I am new to this site and I am having an issue with programming an led sign to display characters for Verizon. I have a little programming background but not a lot and my boss wants this sign fixed. It is an old sign and uses a floppy disk drive. The previous guy put some files on it and it displayed it on the marquee sign. The floppy disk that was used has since been corrupted and quit working and we have no backup of these files. Any help is appreciated.

Not a single backup anywhere? Sweet jesus. There HAS to be a backup somewhere, because no doubt the files were edited on a PC and then copied to the floppy. I would try to contact that guy and see if he knows where those files might be. Or at least the file extension, so you can search for it yourself.

There are no backups anywhere he reinstalled windows on the computer the files were edited on before he left so none of his personal information was on it. So no files. He put a few files on a backup hard drive but i have already searched that hard drive and looked and cant find them.

Not sure what help you're wanting. It sounds like the source of what was displayed on the sign was on the disk, and now the disk is corrupted.

Perhaps find a vendor that can recreate the files for the sign?

Is there a manufacturer or model number on the sign? There are numerous manufacturers of these signs, and they can be controlled in a variety of ways.
