Just a reminder. It will be available at retail on the 16th and the 2GB expansion for the original The Witcher game will be available for download the same day.

I read the book and it is very good. I decided to hold off on playing the game until this expanded content package came out, so I'm looking very much forward to getting the new content and firing this game up.

It's HEEEERRRRREEEEE!!!!!

Download the Witcher EE in 4 Easy Steps

There should be 4 files total for you to download.

Your download window should look like this when you're done.

Edit: If you have an OEM version of the game, you'll need to submit a support ticket and request a CD key to unlock the Enhanced Edition content.

Request a CD key here - http://www.atari.com/us/suppor...roductName=The+Witcher

Bad timing in my case with both Warhammer Online and Clear Sky to play, I just don't know where I'll find the time to play the Enhance version, somehow I'll try .

OHHHHHHHHHHHHH CRUD... Is the expansion pack for the original free to those of us that own the original? Or at least at a reduced rate?

(Being HONEST, I am half hoping NO to both questions... SO little time.. SO many games)

It is free for owners of the original game. Think of it as a 2GB patch Company of Heroes style ;)

I'm still probably going to buy the EE retail box for the physical items, once I know for certain how the censorship/ratings work out. Certainly don't want a US EE box to mess up my UK uncensored nonEE copy.

Edit - I see GoGamer.com now has the EE International Edition up for Pre-Order, with a release of 22 September. Pre-Order Complied with

AHHHHH Good Point... that would be EL STINKO if it did.. Since I did put it away to wait for the Enhanced version expansion pack (Whatever it is) to see the game in full glory..

And yes... I got myself a UK version... All about the ART... :D

LOL... No serioulsy... I loved the Dark Tone the EU version took..
Reading some of the dialogue (before Purchase) ... THAT is how these people would have spoken, in my opinion, were they real...

Kinda like my explanation of the Sopranos to my wife..

"Honey, those conversations did NOT go like this.."

Pardon me sir... But by chance... Do you have the $50,000 you owe me? It was due yesterday... And obviously... Something went astray.... Can we talk?"

They have a DIFFERENT "act" going on.. Geralt (Spelling?) is Clint/Tony Soprano with swords and magic...

Yes, Clint kept it clean... But wasnt as HARDcore as Tony...

The Witcher: Enhanced Edition will be on both Steam and Stardock's Impulse service for those who prefer digital downloads. You can pre-order both now for 36 bucks.

How To Turn The Witcher Into The Witcher: Enhanced Edition
Sep 12, 2008 at 11:40 AM - Andrew Burnes - 10 Comments
Bought The Witcher? Awesome! Now, how about upgrading it with all the features about to be released with The Witcher: Enhanced Edition next Tuesday?

If you bought the original version of The Witcher and registered it at thewitcher.com, you?ll be able to download all of the great content from the Enhanced Edition for free starting September 19!

That?s right ? FREE! No strings attached, just good old-fashioned FREE. Log in and download.

You may be wondering ? ?What do they mean by ?all? of the content?? This is what we mean:

# Patch 1.4 (which turns the standard edition into The Witcher: Enhanced Edition)
# D?jinni Adventure Editor v1.4
# Two new adventures (?The Price of Neutrality? and ?Side Effects?)
# Making-of videos
# ?Inspired by The Witcher? music CD
# Official soundtrack of the game
# Game manual
# Official game guide
# Map of The Witcher?s World

You may notice that ?all? in this case doesn?t include the short story that is found in the retail version? unfortunately getting that released online would be some sort of massive undertaking involving numerous book publishers around the world. So it?s almost everything.Pretty impressive, isn?t it?

Know-how to installation of Enhanced Edition

1. Download the Patch file (it?s something about 1GB)
2. Download the language file/files (more or less 500 MB)
3. Gather them In one folder
4. Start the installation of the Patch.
5. Enjoy The Enhanced Edition :)
6. (Optional) Download bonus content & soundtrack

Is the steam version going to be uncut or cut?

Steam Forums are a great place to find out this info:

Uncensored Witcher...

Uh, maybe I missed something on there, because it seems like copies of the Witcher sold in the US through Steam will carry an M rating, thus be censored. The thread contains no officials comments from Valve or CD Projek Red.

Standard US version is going to be censored again. The nudity of the playing / collection cards you get along with the Dryad scene would put the game in the AO only rating as noted by the people over on the offical forums based on the NA standard for rating games. They did mention the gore should pass over the radar this time, but if you're expecting a little more "skin" you need the international version. You can check the official mod comments here:

http://www.thewitcher.com/foru...ex.php?topic=14239.330

If you want the entire game without the censoring, you will have to get the international version when it hits. Looks like Gogamer is the only place at the moment that has that and is charging more for it (respectively).

You just gotta ask yourself how much T&A you want in the new version :D

Weird. Beast Buy is showing "Release Date: 9/23/2008" but Gamestop is showing in stock. I guess I'll have to walk over to BB and see what gives.

Good luck finding a copy! In Dearborn, MI, Beast Buy didn't have it and still shows as a pre-order coming next Tuesday, so even if they had it, they couldn't sell it; Target and Circuit City had squat and Gamestop doesn't carry PC games anymore. Way to fail!!!! :|

Um, my Gamestop is getting it in tomorrow. In fact, I've already pre-ordered it there.

I pre-ordered the UK edition from Gogamer, but since the International copies don't launch until 22 Sept, its going to take some time for me to get it. :(
