I read about this in a couple of places. I guess they're now the default search engine on Firefox.
Some of the Apple fans at Mac rumors are skeptical, but I was thinking about it, and I wonder if Apple wouldn't take the opportunity to get into the search game?
Maybe some kind of deal where apple pays something like $5 billion, gets a 20% stake in Yahoo, rebrands Yahoo's search engine as Apple (or Spotlight) search, and sends a huge team of engineers and programmers to Yahoo to improve the search engine and integrate it into OS X and iOS.
I don't think they'll ever have better search than google, but Apple Maps is good enough that I'll use it if it's more convenient (i.e. navigate to a contact in my phone or from an address link in Safari.) I think Apple could get the search good enough that people won't bother changing the default search engine.
Otherwise, it's just very hard for me to imagine it happening...
