Mario Party 8

Does anyone have any tips/tricks to opening up all of the minigames in Mario Party 8?

I bought this game to play with friends but much like Raving Rabbids you have to actually beat the game to open up all of the minigames.

The trouble with MP8 is that you have to play these stupid board games against the computer, many times 3 computer opponents so it takes forever before your turn comes around (~5 minutes). You literally have to sit there without doing anything for 5 minutes.

I know you can purchase the minigames to open them up with cards gathered in the game but that too takes a long time.

I just want to open up all the minigames. Anyone have any good tips for doing it fast?

Also, can you copy a saved game from a SD card to another person's Wii? Might be worth it to just find someone who has already opened them up and then copy their saved game to your own Wii.

bring friends over, and play a 4-player board with 4 people. use the points you build up to go unlock games you haven't played yet in the one tent too.

mario party is a game meant for playing with people, not computers.

You can copy game saves to the SD card, and you can copy game saves FROM the SD card, so unless the game save contains some unique system identifier that should work.

Edit: Make sure you back up your existing save first. Backing up the existing save would also help you figure out where to put the downloaded save file on the SD card.

Have yet to try MP8, but couldn't you just set all players to computers and let it play?

No option for that as far as I can tell. That would be great though.

I think I will try out the saved game thing. I really don't want to waste any more of my time trying to unlock all the damn games.

I know what you mean, the biggest gripe I have with MP8 is that you can't button through most cut scenes and the computer actions.

No kidding. I like the minigames but the board game part of it is a complete waste of time. It is based on luck and doesn't have much depth.

Finally opened all the minigames... Time for a beer.

Going through two rounds of Star Battle Arena was what opened up most of them.
