Wanted to see what everyone else uses, since I seem to get schooled online with this setup:

wiimote + nunchuck
Bike
Small
manual

I get 1st place every time single player, but suck it up online.

My preference of controller: GC, Classic, Wheel. Never tried wiimote+nunchuck.
I wonder if anyone is kicking butts online with a wheel.

I normally use the wheel because it's more fun but I think I do better with the GC controller. Never tried the classic or the wiimote and nunchuck.

I generally go with Turtleman in a cart with manual drifing although I've heard using auto makes it easier online.

I just use the GC controller. I use a small character on the Bullet Bike. I win a lot online, but in this MK almost any match comes down to luck.

Does the class size matter in terms of control or speed? I don't remember seeing anything about it in the manual. I just assumed all the characters controlled the same, and it was only the vehicle that affected the control.

Well you class size determines which vehicles you can use, so, in that sense, yes class sizes do matter in both control and speed.
