Mario Kart Wii Online Woes...

So I'm playing on wireless through DSL. I went ahead and assigned a static IP to my Wii and opened the two ports 88 and 3074 (both) for that IP. Also put in the DNS numbers. The connection seemed better, but still not great.

I'm using a linksys wireless-b router (at work, so don't know model number atm). I'll be upgrading to a wireless-g next weekend.

Anyone know what to do to make this work better?

The Wii is known for fickle online connectivity. I can never get mine to connect to my wireless network, while my PS3, 360, DS, PSP, and PC all can.

so should I be happy that I can play at least 3-4 matches online at a time?

When I bring my Wii to my friends house, it can connect to that internet seemingly without a hitch. But, even then, I still get randomly disconnected after a number of races in Mario Kart.

Maybe it's a Mario Kart thing?
