This country is rapidly becoming Bizarro World.
...the fuck?!? I think they need to axe a few people higher in the chain if nobody saw a problem with this. The Marine confessed to his role in the Capitol riot last summer during a security clearance interview, but was not charged until last month.
Yeah, fucking with the mail in most any way is a federal offense. When some circular spammer puts something in your mailbox on his own, that's a federal offense! You can't even leave a note for a neighbor IN their mailbox. My how times have changed. I recall how four Marines rented a house down the street from where I live. About 2AM one morning one of them got stupid drunk and proceeded to knock down quite a few mailboxes up and down the street. Well, calls went out to the Marine Commandant and a couple of days later those Marines were ordered to visit every house on the block and apologize for their conduct unbecoming and I was led to understand that those Marines were also ordered to arrange for repairs and replacement of the damaged mailboxes to the owner's satisfaction. An investigation was also started by the USPS into the incident of which our Neighborhood association was contacted for information regarding those owners who were affected by the incident and given options as to what recourse the owners may take up to and including prosecuting the Marines under federal statute.
All of the affected owners refused to press charges after apologies were given.
I think you can if you affix the proper first class postage in stamps on it.Yeah, fucking with the mail in most any way is a federal offense. When some circular spammer puts something in your mailbox on his own, that's a federal offense! You can't even leave a note for a neighbor IN their mailbox.
PS: I don't think Republicans take the Jan 6 thingi as anything but patriotism. What decent Marine wouldn't want to overthrow a US government that had become evil. What patriot wouldn't resist brainwashing that told him that evil was actually good. Like the guy that took a hammer t Mr. Pelosi, you learn from not being really prepared. I am sure lots of prep is being done to insure that it's the Marine Corps itself that shows up next time.
"I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."
Yeah, IIRC there are questions about insurrection on the security clearance application....the fuck?!? I think they need to axe a few people higher in the chain if nobody saw a problem with this.
Well, that, and all the folks clubbing police and desecrating the place were white. Let's face it, if a group of blacks tried that, they'd have been gunned down.PS: I don't think Republicans take the Jan 6 thingi as anything but patriotism.

Personally I don't think they have anything like an organized belief. I think it more likely they respond to their lizard brain which is what soldiers are conditioned to do in my opinion. I think it never occurs to them that their leaders may actually think any differently, and likely, often enough, with good reason.I often wonder if those insurrectionists who were active duty military acted under the belief that they were honoring their oaths...defending against a domestic enemy...but, IMO, they instead BECAME said domestic enemies by acting against the Constitution.
