I think it was all a set up.....
I think that once the trail begins he will have to answer for his actions......
 
I knew something was fishy when the story first broke. He was an idiot for deserting his unit (though if I were in his unit I wouldnt want someone around who wasnt dedicated to his unit anyways) He was a bigger idiot for turning back up in US Custody, and now hes really gonna get it, probably life in prison at the minimum.

I think he deserted because he could fit right in. Then he was captured, but in the video he looked to me like he was laughing...

i will have to watch it again, i didnt notice him laught BUT it seems that if he did that would be something that they would do a "retake" on.
