Marijuana more than 100x less lethal than alcohol

All drugs should be legalized and decriminalized depending on an assessment of risk to users. The entire focus of the justice system should be on illegal traffickers and producers.

I'm pretty sure smoking pot is probably not good for you, compared to just consuming refined THC. There's probably increased cancer risk for heavy smokers.

I'm not pro-pot, and I have never and would never use it, but I do think it's time to decriminalize it. Tax it, regulate production and safety, and restrict minors from purchasing it. Same as alcohol. We're wasting valuable resources prosecuting it. Legalization will not stop the black market, but it would take a big chunk out of it.

My big area of concern is still cocaine and other conflict narcotics. Decriminalizing possession wouldn't stop the black market. Yet I don't see it being made available over the counter anytime soon. Especially in its refined forms.

It's a BIG business that includes MILLIONS of jobs.

If legalized, many will be on the street/no work etc.

Just saying.....
you can just move the police resources elsewhere (organized crime and cocaine mostly), there's always a need.

First, I'm not disagreeing with what you are saying.

Second, I'm just telling you that the monster we grew with our BS laws has consequences to innocent hard working people as well.

Private Jails will get less business, Court rooms will need less staff/judges, cops will not need as many in the force....and on and on we go.

Regardless what we do now, there will be some consequences.

Illegal MaryJ government run BUSINESS. Business that generates a lot of jobs and tax revenue.

Take that away, and something will HAVE to give.

🙂

I would imagine every single one of those people resourses would be re-assigned to other crimes etc...

If it were possible to OD, this man would have done it by now.

That is 1/2 oz (14 grams) of shatter that he finishes in one go (more or less). For those of you who dont know what the average dab size is, I smoke about 0.05 grams of that stuff for a whole day of being stoned.

Since it was legalized in Colorado, creative entrepreneurs have found "new" ways to make revenue off of it by extracting the THC and adding it to food items. One kid ate a little too much of it, thought he was super man, and did a swine dive off a roof top.

You know what? I don't think pot should be made legal.

Why? I believe the possibility and prospect of being arrested adds an extreme sense of excitement to the act which would sorely be missed.

“We have no history of any other issues until he eats a marijuana cookie and becomes erratic and this happens,” corner spokeswoman Michelle Weiss-Samaras said. “It’s the one thing we have that’s significant.”

That's some science right there. I'll go out on a limb and say this has never happened to anyone solely from ingesting marijuana or concentrates, ever.
