To each his own. Norah's voice does nothing for me. You are apparently focusing on Mariah's "whistling". I don't like the "whistling" thing, nor the constant runs she does, but there's no female pop-star that has vocals anywhere close to Mariah.

Agreed. Mariah has one of the best voices I've ever heard. Norah's not even close. And of course, Mariah is beautiful -- plus she is crazy, which makes her even sexier!

I'm not a big fan of the high-pitched female voices that seem to just sing scales all the time, like Mariah, Whitney, Christina (I actually do not like any of their songs, but I can appreciate a decent voice when I hear one).

I prefer something smooth/sultry like Norah Jones or Jennifer Charles.

dude she's 38, I have seen her pretty close up with not a lot of makeup less than 2 years ago and she looked outstanding for her age. Most 38 year olds have some lines here and there. But most DON'T have hundreds of millions of dollars and a body you could hump on all night.

therefor Mariah = teh wins! Anyone who would rather get nasty with Norah Jones go ahead, more Mariah for me.

Well, when you've got a gazillion dollars and your own personal trainer(s), you don't age as ungracefully as the rest of us, ya know??

Mariah's always had an excellent voice, and as long as she takes care of it, there's no reason to believe she'll lose it any time soon. She may eventually lose part of or an entire octave, when she's older, but with her range, no one will really notice (imho).

Christina's the only other singer I've listened to that comes close to Mariah's range and talent. IMHO, really a waste that she uses her voice for the music she puts out, but she's catering to what sells, not what sounds good. Britney's a washed up has-been trailer trash, who wishes she had half of Christina's talent.
