Haha... did you guys hear that Britney Spears has also made a movie? I heard it on the local radio a couple of days ago when I was driving to work... apparently her movie is much better than Mariah's! 
EDIT: Forgot to mention, the radio also reported that the first scene of Britney's movie consists of her dancing around in her underwear. This alone will probably ensure this movie's success...

Wow, I just learnt from that article that she's only 31 years old... she's been around for such a while that I would figure she would be in her mid to late 30s... it certainly looks that way in her new video - that racing one!
Anyways, it's always sad to see somebody this successful take such a big hit. And even though I'm not a huge fan of her's I can sympathize... maybe she just overexerted herself as of late - I wish her the best =)

LOL@ Maxdepth! That was a good one. Ms. Carey suffers from NTS. No Talent Syndrome. The symptoms are quite low-key and almost imperceptible at first.
The onset of the disease is typically characterized by a less-than-mediocre album, going Platinum due to slick marketing, screaming schoolgirs, and sexy videos. The transient success experienced by the disease's victim causes the victim to incorrectly perceive Talent, and therefore, success.
The second stage of the disease is characterized by the release of a second album which doesn't do even 1/2 as well as the first, as well as multiiple TV Late Night Show appearances. The victim's brain is usually addled at this point and he/she will dress very inappropriately. This gives the illusion that the victim also suffers from DSS. Diseased Slut Syndrome. This has not been proven nor disproven at the time of the writing of this dissertation.
The last and final stage of the disease (this happens immediately before DVC (Death of the Victim's Career)) is that the victim appears in what could be considered a B-movie, playing the role of a Diseased Slut, suffering from DSS.

WOW, god forbid she works like a regular person. Last time I was physically and mentally exhausted to that point I was rewarded with more work. What happened when I took 2 days off? I was called into work.
Normally I would scoff at her, but I'm on the verge of a breakdown myself, so all I can do is empathize

(edit: damn. It is easy to talk big over the internet :| I wouldn't go as far as I said previously, but I sure as hell wouldn't think she is talented just because she is my mom - I can form my own opinions after all)
She's probably going through that b/c of all the other hotties that are in the biz right now. She's jealous of them.
She has amazing vocal range and astounding gifts of talent as a singer, as well as being lucky enough that she had musical parents. BTW it's octaves, and she has 5 or 6 octave range, which is comparable to opera singers.
Early in her career she married her much older manager, several years later she divorced him and became more provacative in dress and style and even said as much to some press.
Now she's run herself into the ground.
Oh and lest anyone think I've been a fan of hers for any amount of time, she's a complete slut, a skank who is squandering an amazing vocal gift. She has used a plastic body to get ahead rather than the instrument of her voice.
The only amazing thing to come out of her throat lately was ODB.

I guess this is what happens when you don't have a high exec from Sony helping you in your career. Welcome to the real world. I saw the preview for her new movie. What a joke. Good thing she has a really good voice cause her acting sucks. She should stick to just singing cause she doesn't make a good slut either. If she keeps on dressing like a slut, then people will just laugh at her cause she looks like a $20 slut (I would imagine) and forget that she has a good voice. I should be her manager damn it.
