March 16: Amazon giving 5% to charity

I'm not often promoting Amazon because of their mix of excellent and abusive customer service.

But if you do have a purchase planned, today they'll donate 5% to charity.

It's through their Amazon Smile program - if you didn't know, sign up by going to smile.amazon.com and use that URL for any purchases and they always donate 0.5% of the purchase to the charity you specify.

But today they're making that 5% - so it's a good day to make that big purchase.

You pick the charity - mine is commondreams.org.

Of course I had to do a $265 smile eligible purchase YESTERDAY. Ahh well. My charity of choice is my friends Montessori school Montessori Pathways of New England Inc.

Thanks, I haven't seen this mentioned as a deal on other sites, probably because with Smile they get no referral kickback. Mine is Child's Play.
