mapping ip addresses to domain names

Pretty self explanatory title . . . how could I force a computer to go to a specific website (for example, www.anandtech.com) if they tried to go to an ip address that wasn't www.anandtech.com? Is there a simple way to do this, something comparable to the 'hosts' file in Windows that sends a specific website to a specific ip?

I guess you can do it through your regular HOSTS file too. Since HOSTS files are checked first during the name resolution process before the DNS server.
