Mapping a network drive on xp home

Hi all

My roommate's computer is set up on a workgroup with mapped shared drives for her workplace.

Is it possible to map a drive to her computer to share files over our home network without blowing out the settings her IT guy has configured?

You did not indicated the type of Network and Settings.

In General

If you want to Map the Roommate Drive to your computer it is done on your computer you can try it would not do any thing to the other computer.

If you want to MAP your Drive to the Room Mate computer, it has to be done on the Work computer.

Mapping Drive should Not change Network Setting it simply would Not work if the settings are Not compatible.

However, if the Work place is ?touchy? about security and messing around with computers that go on their Network you better of leaving it alone.

Thanks Jack,

Sorry for the ambiguity, I wanted to map my drive to my roommates computer.

The workplace is educational, the IT guy is a vice-principal who happens to play around with computers a bit. I don't think he'll get too stuffy.
