I am running a file server on Server 2003 R2. All users have at least one mapped network drive. I have multiple Windows XP boxes that seem to work fine (with the exception of a few excel issues). And a few Windows 7 boxes that have problems. Every few days I'll get a call from a Win7 user saying they can't access the network drive. It has disconnected itself and will not reconnect unless the user reboots.
This KB article talks about drives disconnecting but then reconnecting when clicked on. The drives dont reconnect in my case, until you reboot.
I've also tried, net config server /autodisconnect:600 to increase the time, but it doesn't seem to help. Beyond asking the user to reboot every night, is there another solution?
