Mapped Network Drive Does Not Reconnect

I need some help. I have an Intel SS4000-E NAS. I have created a few user names and passwords on the system. I can map the drives with no problems, and they connect, but when I restart my computer it doesn't reconnect. I checked the box to remember the login info, but it still doesn't connect. If I double click the mapped drive icon, it asks me for the password and then connects with no problems.

This is happening on two of my PCs - one with XP Pro and one with Vista Business. I have a third PC that re-connects with no problem (although it uses a different user name and password on the NAS).

Does anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong?

Thanks,
Nick

Do you know how I create one? Is it something I can just download and modify to login to my drive?

Ok, I think I may have figure out how to create the login script, but I am still curious as to why one of my machines reconnects after a restart with no problem and the others don't. There must be more to it.

not sure why, but as a worked around if you add the /persistent:y switch to your netuse command it will act just as if you clicked reconnect at logon.

Thanks,
I actually figured it out. When I installed Vista on the machine, I did not enter a password for the user account. By entering a password, it requires the user to login at startup. Even if the password is different from the mapped drive, it will login if you check the "reconnect" box.

By doing it this way, I don't have to run a script and the password is not transmitted in clear text across the network.

It was working on my other machines because I had given everyone a password to login.

It works great now and everything connects at startup. This is nice because I store a lot of files on a NAS server and now the integration is seamless.

Thanks again to everyone for their help.
