So what have I missed?
Scenario:
We are in the middle of a merger I have installed a MPLS cloud 30meg with a 2meg failover link between company A & B. Everything works as intended. With a few side affects I didn?t think of.
So we have domain (1) and domain (2) with all the rules and ACL?s I have set up we can join either domain from either location or map drives and use exchange in either location. So to the problem I have now.
If I am in domain A and map a drive to domain B I can only see the shares that have the permissions to domain users in the first security tab, but I can see no shares that have domain users in the special permissions part of the folder permissions.
There is no trust relationship between each site at the moment. And the IT services manager on site A is worried about changing permissions on the folders as it tends to break more than it fixed, so you can see what I am up against.
So just a simple breakdown:
A user logs into the domain called MC and maps a drive to \\dc01\data on a domain called EL this will only show them 3 folders these are the only folders without special permissions assigned to those folders. But I need them to see the folders with special permissions.
They have security group access and when mapping the drives they have to enter domain\user then password as expected.
So what did I miss? Is it the trust relationship? Or did I miss something really stupid?
Thanks in advance
