Do prefer authentic maple syrup, or the imitation kind that every red blooded American grew up with?

I grew up on the imitation stuff, but recently I've started to enjoy the taste of the real thing. Mmmm, I want some Pancakes and/or Waffles now!

I prefer a tiny cut of melted butter(salted), followed by heavy b or c grade maple syrup, then topped off with a few drops of Aunt Jemima.

Ya, but he didn't have a Poll!

And I guess when I say "Red-Blooded American" I mean, lower to middle class, and not some hoyty-toyty "we buy all the best expensive stuff" rich folk like y'all (y'all added for emphasis).

I kid, I kid.

I think the first time I had the real stuff I was in Canada. I'm totally serious. It was almost like it was meant to be.

Hopefully, we have a good spring for maple syrup (temperature fluctuations are necessary). I'm thinking about tapping a few of my trees and giving home made a try this year.

i grew up middle class, but we had a Sugar Bush and made our own syrup.
NY State syrup is the sweetest. :)
