Is there anyway to monitor a programs access to the registry when it runs and when it installs? im having some issues with it "calling home" and sending data without my permission, something i didnt agree to when i purchased the program from its independent publisher
 
If the program doesn't require outbound internet access to function correctly, simply access the Windows (or third-party) firewall advanced configuration dialog, and block the responsible *.exe file's outbound access privelege. It'll probably mean switching to manually updating the app.
