map com port4 xp client to server 2008r2 com port 9

Hi I have a device that I need the com port redirected.

I've tried the command

net use com9: \\tsclient\com4

I end up getting error 1200, says the device is invalid. Any ideas? Thanks

use serproxy and write the program to connect to a socket. far easier imo.
