I am asking for some clarification here, by the mods if at all possible. Tonight I noticed one trader in the for sale forums that had four for sale threads on the first page. So I posted in his thread:
Is four for sale threads really necessary? Why not consolidate them?
Thread 1
Thread 2
Thread 3
Thread 4
To which I received the response:
I like to cater to those who use the search feature, as suggested in trading guidelines. I find packaging item sales together makes it harder for those searching to find what they want, but thanks for the idea.
Well, the sentence "I like to cater to those who use the search feature" holds no validity because the search feature will pick out words within the thread body of the thread also.
I have seen a general, albeit unwritten, rule that one for sale thread and one wanted to buy thread running concurrently by the same trader is acceptable. I have seen ALL of a trader's threads locked when then have a lot of threads running concurrently.
One of the reasons for this being that if everyone listed only one item per thread, the forum would be huge!! There would also be much more jockeing to be on the coveted first page.
I think four concurrently running FS threads is excessive! Mods, what do you think? If I am wrong I am wrong AND I will adjust my trading/threads accordingly.
I think you crapping in his thread is a much worse offense. Please PM us the next time instead of taking it upon yourself to be the Forum Monitor. I will message him asking him to group his items in 1 or 2 threads from now on.
Otay...so I too have learned something else tonight. Did not view that as thread crapping myself, but Cest la vie.
I will edit my posts accordingly...
