Yep, this is amazingly silly. This boy can live as he sees fit, put on a wig or dress up or whatever else his mental disorder drives him to do -- it's a free country. Why should his feelings matter more than the feelings of the rest of the people, specifically those who are forced to share a bathroom with him?

It's a bit different because it involves another form of societal conditioning aside from bigotry - body shame and modesty, which is especially true for females. I think a teenage girl could harbor zero animosity toward transgenders and still not want a biological male dressed as a female in their locker room. One thing that hasn't been mentioned here is that a good percentage of male->female trans start out as hetero males, Caitlyn Jenner being the most recent media example. That means not only is a biological male in the locker room with these naked girls, but he might be a straight biological male who is getting a hard-on. Or perhaps not, but there is no way for them to know.

I fully support trans in their quest for equal rights, but I think bathrooms and locker rooms involving young people should probably be an exception.

Well said. This is not something teen girls should have to deal with. When they are adults, they will be adults and better able to handle such things.

Ironic on one hand we teach in our schools about trigger warnings and micro aggressions that might set someone off especially women and girls with past sexual abuse or rape and that we should respect that, because what may appear innocent and benign to the rest of us may cause them emotional trauma,


but when some guy that identifies as female uses the female restroom, showers, locker room etc., we tell them that they should just deal with it and stop being so bigoted.

The schools are going to be put between a rock and a hard place legally sooner or later when some female sues the school for emotional trauma that affects them triggered by seeing or having to deal with some trans gender male in a female only area,

It's not a matter of if but when.

I think they should just solve the issue by designating one neutral bathroom, and anyone who is not cis can use those without issue.

This can e.g. be the disabled bathroom which is almost always gender neutral since not many people need it.

The locker room is another issue, and arguably a much bigger one.

I mean, toilets have enclosed stalls so it doesn't really matter, indeed in smaller places they are gender neutral too, but in the locker room you truly see everything and it's not strange the girls are uncomfortable. The toilet issue is being overblown.

Considering the proportion of the population that is gay, any locker room for either gender likely already has several people in it who would be sexually attracted to the other people in it. Should we ban gay people from locker rooms? Force them to use the other one?

I have been trying to justify the reason and I keep hitting a dumb wall. The reason I don't want other men seeing my girlfriend naked is because...? I come to that it makes it special that only I get to have that. But then, why am I okay with women seeing her naked? If its the assumption that they would not be turned on, then why am I okay with one of our close friends that is a bisexual girl seeing her naked?

That same bisexual girl is also German and I learned that nudity for them is not a big deal. People will regularly change on public beaches and parks. Nudity can be sexual or non-sexual. If most restrooms have stalls, then why can they not be considered usable for both? Can a man not hear a woman shit?

I would guess your question was mainly sarcasm but maybe not. Either way, it seems to be a question I cannot answer and I bet others would not be able to give me an answer I would accept.
