With overwhelming public support and dire illegal immigrant problems it's not surprising other states are following suit. The federal government is simply not doing one of it's main jobs and states are being forced to act.

Arizona's sweeping new immigration law doesn't even take effect until next month, but lawmakers in nearly 20 other states are already clamoring to follow in its footsteps.

"Any candidate that wants to survive the bloodbath that's approaching this November needs to come out in support" of Arizona's law, Gheen said. He sends regular e-mail messages urging about 30,000 recipients to contact their legislators to support similar bills.

Most people I talk to, liberal or conservative, are all for if it helps the problem. Not really a lib/con issue. I'd welcome something similar here in Dearborn if it would help get all the illegal Arabs out of here.

It's a nice game of doublespeak that they play. They call all those who oppose illegal immigration racists and xenophobes, oppose laws like this, support measures that make it easier for illegal immigrants to live here, all the while calling for "immigration reform", which would basically equate to amnesty. They claim it would be impossible to deport illegals, that illegals actually benefit our economy, blah blah blah. They do everything but come out and say, "we support illegal immigration", because that just doesn't sound nice.

Pelosi, Reed, Obama, et al, have a very significant political advantage to be gained if illegals gain the right to vote. Ignoring this is naive and ignorant.

Yeah because illegal Mexicans are what gets dems elected. They sure get out the vote. GTFO.
