Many display artifiacts in Windows Desktop (TNT2 Ultra Card)

I am getting a lot of display artifiacts on a Creative Labs TNT2 Ultra Card not only in 3d games but also windows desktop (driver ver 6.50)
Is it due to overheating?
Should I underclock the card? (it is running at defaultspeed now)
 
actually, it is random or patterned artifacts where there are streaks of messed up color all over the screen.
 
my guillemot tnt2 did that to me also...really got bad in 3d games...bad card was all i could figure, and i hadnt even o'ced it any...so used my old tnt a while and just got my a kyro2...
