Manually set the refresh rate on my monitor??

One of my computers is using an old video card that doesn't have drivers for the OS. So, in the monitor options, I can't select a refresh rate faster than 75hz (drop down menu doesn't go any higher than this), since the adapter isn't recognized. Is there a way to manually input the refresh rate to 85hz? Maybe a registry hack? I'd like to avoid going out and buying another PCI video card b/c I don't use that computer for anything but word processing, and internet surfing. Thanks for any help in advance. :)

Make sure the "Hid modes this monitor cannot display" box is NOT checked.

Doh. It didn't work. Any manual registry hacks that could solve this? The vid card is an onboard MPact2 AGP graphics controller, but it shows up in Windows display properties as Unknown, and is replaced by VgaSave??

It's possible that the video card doesn't support that res/refresh rate combo. If that's the case, then you're completely out of luck. I wouldn't be surprised with an old card.

It supported it before the OS upgrade to Win2k. I'll have to go buy another card, since it seems there's no support for the MPact2. Doh.
