Manual Req: PCChips M730

Draknor

Senior member
I need the front panel pinout (J14) for the PcChips M730. The manual is no longer available on their FTP server, and I haven't been able to find it anywhere else. http://go.to/ajz sounds like it had a lot of PcChips resources, but I'm just getting a 404 error from them now.

Can anyone help me? This is a Slot 1 motherboard with the "BXpert" chipset, integrated audio/video. TIA!

"BXpert" is actually VIA's Apollo Pro+ 691, paired with the 586B south bridge. You got an onboard SiS 6326AGP there, with 8 MBytes of its own RAM, and a C-Media 8330 ISA PnP sound chip.

As for the front panel arrangement, isn't that silk screened to the board? Look closely!

Otherwise, keep trying on go.to/ajz, usually it'll come back.

regards, Peter

Thanks for the reply Peter! Unfortunately, the front panel connections are not silk-screened on the board. I looked all over for them yesterday (except on the bottom of the board). I found it very odd that they weren't listed anywhere. I'll look again tonight, but I really don't think it's there!

(If you know that it is in fact silk-screened on, could you tell me where to look? Thanks!)

Here's hoping go.to/ajz comes back soon! 🙂

Now that I have 2 pc chips boards i can tell you from first hand knowledge that they are notorious for lousy support! I have the m728, a p3 board, and the m930lr, the latter being a p4 mobo which is working rather well so far.

There is the standard:
http://www.pcchips.com/index2.html

I didnt see your mobo there.

I also have downloaded pc chips stuff from windrivers.com and believe it or not, the support section of computergeeks.com has some pcchips stuff.

Good luck. Hope you get what you are looking for. I know of another place, just cant find it right now. When I find it I will get back to you.
Don

Thanks Dan!

I already was at wimsbios & posted a message in the forums there. AJZ emailed me the files this evening. Thanks for your help tho!
