-ASUS K8N mobo-

Trying to connect front usb ports to the motherboard. The usb cables are labeled, but the pins on the board aren't clear. The usb pins are setup as follows:

. . . . .
. . . .

*usb cables are labeled:

(1) vcc1
(2) data -1
(3) data +1
(4) gnd1

(5) vcc2
(6) data-2
(7) data+2
(8) gnd2

My question is this, which set of cables should be connected where? Is the top row of pins considered 1-4 & bottom 5-8, or Vice Versa............... OR, could they possibly be setup like this:

1 3 5 7 .
2 4 6 8

Look at the picture on page 1-21 of your manual and we'll use the USB 5 and 6 headers as an example. It shows two rows of pins, with the last pin in the bottom row missing.

The pins are numbered this way:

5-6-7-8-X
1-2-3-4-np

X=you don't connect anything to this pin
np=no pin on the header in this position
