Anyone else think so? I live in Philly and wish we could trade AI for someone like him, so smart on the court.

whenever i watch manu play, he's the epitomy of a basketball savvy player.

the pistons have carlos delfino who everyone compares to ginobili, mostly because they are both from argentina.....but delfino has shown flashes of ginobili-like brilliance...

I just think hes so underrated because he's a relatively small white foreigner, plays beside Mr. MVP Duncan, and usually comes off the bench. Watching him now is amazing, 19pts off the bench without Duncan and its not even halftime! He plays great D too, I love guys who bring it on both sides of the ball

well, he did make the allstar team this year, so he may be gaining popularity.

that said, no one playing for the san antonio spurs will ever be as popular as the other "stars" of the NBA.

You mean Carlos Arroyo? I think you've been watching too much Desperate Housewives.

lol, no, i do mean Carlos Delfino

he was drafted by the Pistons a few years back and continuted to play for his national team for a few years. he's a rookie now, but he's got plenty of professional experience. he's relatively unknown outside of Pistons fans, but look for him to be a huge contributer off the bench next season.

we've got WallaceX2 and CarlosX2 :D

see above :)

he only played 30 games this year due to injury/surgery. he's been left off the playoff roster, because they wanted him to fully recover. in the last few games of the season, he showed flashes of brilliance accumulating 8 assists in a game...and he's a SG/SF.

he plays decent D but his offense is too streaky for me. he seems like a good team player though.

And playing as a team who buckles down on D is how they won back-to-back.

He's the closest thing to a white AI there is. He's not quite as gifted, but is a bit smarter and unselfish baller, and he's athletic, a great defender, a competitor and warrior, and has AI-like endurance and resilience. When AI is on tho, noone's in his league.

that was a WWE style foul... nothing close to aiming for the ball... just a behind the neck vertabrae smash.

"I'm going to put in on tape and show my son how to play basketball -- just put your head down and run into people," Nuggets coach George Karl said. "I guess that's a new brand of basketball. It's not very pretty. He just goes in there and throws his arms up in the air and throws his elbows at us. He hits you as much as you hit him."

[:music:] :(tears:( [/:music:]

Is he serious?! Who threw elbows at who last night?? They tried to kill Ginobili probably because they couldn't stop him with Duncan on the bench.. I didn't see him committing any cheap fouls or giving cheap shots, hes just annoying on defense because his arms are active, its the NBA, deal with it Karl.

Minute for minute he's one of the most productive players out there. His ppg/asst per game/stl per game are some of the best in the league considering how much of a game he actually plays.

Hopefully he can keep it up. His style of play reminds me a lot of Vick from the NFL. So fast, so intense, and so wrecklessly out of control. You just have to wonder how long it is before he runs out of gas or gets so banged up that he can't continue playing his style.

Everyone criticized the Spurs 3 years ago when they drafted Ginobili with the 20th or so pick in first round, where are all those haters now? In probably a year or two Ginobili will be better than AI due to one reason, field goal percentage. He's hanging around 45% right now, and as he becomes more seasoned that will probably go up, and he needs to take care of the ball a little more.
However Ginobili doesn't force stupid shots like AI does, granted AI is a damn good player and I admire the hell out of him.

I wish a lot more people would have seen the game when the Spurs played Phoenix without Duncan, won, and Ginobili hung 48 on them. It was probably the most awesome performance of any player all season.

haha, manu will NEVER be as good as AI. AI is freaking dynamite... this guy is the most fearless player i've ever seen.. in any sport.. bar-none. he'll play at 100% all 48 minutes without reservation. shaq is the most dominating, but, imo, ai is the most talented
