Well I'm pissed since I'm a life long Sox fan, but I was saying Ortiz was blatantly on steroids for years. Of course Bandwagon Nation is like "Naaaw ortiz is clutch hurrrrrrrrrr". God I hate 90% of Red Sox fans.
 
The only one anyone cares about is Bonds... Even though its starting to look like what most rational people expected... Widespread as hell.

Hrm, well things are quite a bit different now. I'm sure some players still dabble, but Manny was suspended for 50 games this season for taking a banned substance.
 
As a long time Red Sox fan, I can't say I'm surprised. Most of the big names have been doing this crap, one of the reasons I've slowly lost interest in baseball.

It seems the greatest benefits of roids are in keeping older players going longer.

This isn't really news, there was no penalty for it at the time, so I could see lots of players trying to gain an edge. This probably points to a continuing use of the substances, but until someone is willing to test and publish the results, it's all rumors.

I wouldn't be surprised with them, well I don't know enough about Thome.

For me to be surprised, it'd have to be Chipper Jones or maybe Greg Maddux.

I'm tired of the media acting like they're shocked and offended whenever they find out yet another one.
 
This won't surprise anyone. If there are any idiots left that don't believe most athletes in the major sports (not just baseball) use PEDs, they are probably too stupid to be able to read this article anyway.

What convincing information do you have that leads you to believe most MLB players are currently taking PED's? I'm pretty certain smart people can back up claims they make with substance.
 
A little bit of a surprise because Ortiz has always been a big boy. He probably used one that helped him stay healthy because he sure as hell doesn't have to bulk up.

I have no evidence, but I believe a lot of MLB players (and players in any big money sport) are taking PEDs. The potential payoff for taking PEDs is millions of dollars. The sports have a history of not wanting to uncover anything, being slow to test, etc. New PEDs to dodge current tests can be developed. Maybe all of a sudden human beings behave differently than they always have before. If you believe that, I have some great houses to sell you.
 
Pretty much what Dirigible said.

More specifically, massive financial incentive, an extremely competitive environment, the constant presence of PEDs that cannot be tested for, and finally human nature.
 
All in all, if this is what made Yankee fans stfu about the curse then great. Half of their team was on them anyway (Sheff, Giambi, A-Rod, Clemens).
 
These more names from the double super secret list coming out?

At this rate we maÝ be sooner to having the entire list dumped since there won't be many unknown names left. 🙂
