Mandrake8, Win2000, Networking

Okay, here's the setup.

Home LAN, TCP/IP, Windows 2000, Linksys DSL 4 port Router/Hub. Everything works fine. All win 2k boxes see each other perfectly and access the internet perfectly.

Here's the part that puzzels me... I just added a Mandrake 8 box to the mix, uses DHCP, the mandrake box access the internet just fine, so TCP/IP is working, it does NOT however see the win2k boxes and the win2k boxes dont see the linux machine.

What is wrong? I thought DCHP would handle all of the network setting, and I do have access to the internet.....

Any ideas...??

Thanks

Thanks for the link, I've bookmarked it for future reference. Very good article. It still didn't solve my networking issue though.

I think it's related to SAMBA settings. Is there a good SAMBA tutorial geared for linux on a Win2000 network (workgroup not domain).

Thanks

You could go to samba.org, but I think you could at least try to run the default seeting and see does it works.
Just a friendly remind, the command you need is:
/etc/init.d/smb start
good luck
