So back to my Mandrake question ;(

Is it work trying to find an old dual P2 or P3 motherboard. as I have 2 spare P2 300 chips. Or do I just stick with my single CPU set-up.

Any areas to look at and watch out for as I am a linux newbie.

Mikey out!!

Id say stick to your main rig. Mandrake 9.0 is awesome and runs smooth. Smooth on a p2 I dont know, but its worth a shot. I am also pretty much a Linux newbie and dont know anything. You can find BX boards around and about. You can also buy a socket convertor and a voltage convertor and put a Tualtan in there.

I've used 8.1 on my old POS Compaq P2-350 (single CPU) w/256MB PC100 and it ran smooth as butter. Also ran on Dual P3-933's/ with 512MB PC800 and fine there too.. all depends on what you're going to do with it.
