i mess up with the group policy, now whenever i login this error msg shows up in the terminal .
"id: cannot find name for group ID 501""

now, how do i set the group back to my normal one ??
the GUI where i change this setting is now dead, not loading.

so, there must be a way to set it in the terminal ? but how ? any help please ? thx

Ok, you will have to explain this to me slowly. My user group (in /etc/group, not groups, doh) looks like:
n0c:*:1002:

My group, n0c, is group id 1002

Edit your file to make the changes you want. Hopefully that explains it to you, if not please explain better. Im going through an Apple pie moment :p
