Mandrake - Linux, Diskdrake

I have a friend who has tried to use diskdrake to mount a partiton on his drive for Linux.
Now he has managed to stuff it up, and it came back as no partitons, 19,000Mb free (20Gb drive)

what's the chances of getting it back?
Is diskedit in nortons the best way?
