Mandrake booting weird

I recently got my dual boot set up (10 mins ago) but when i try to run Mandrake 10 from the lilo loader everything loads but i get to a black text screen (similar to DOS) , It then asks for my log in details so i put in my Username and Password which i created during the install. All of this works correctly except i am left with a black text screen in which i have no idea what to do, what happened to the nice GUI and all that. This is mandrake 10 and i dont think its supposed to look like this. Any suggestions???
