Hiya,

Downloaded and made bootable's for 9.1 today. Installed on an empty partition.. Boots fine except after the 4th service loading the screen goes blank.

No biggy.

After a reboot ... loading the default key map (my friggin keyboard) the machine locks up. Kinda bugs me but it's no biggy as i have other options avalible. Any ideas on how to approach this one?

Additonally booting failsafe the machine appears to lock up as well. (Screen goes blank.. no apparent disc activity.

Also, forgot to mention lock up on shutdown .. after Unmounting File Systems {OK}

Crazy ain't it? I haven't had probs like this with other versions of Mandrake (7) or Redhat (7.3, 8.0).

I've had too many problems with 9.1. I couldn't even log into KDE!!! I gave up and installed RH 9. Very nice system, but the GUI
was kinda slow on a PII-400MHZ so I went with my beloved FreeBSD with windowmaker

If its not a problem then I wouldn't even bother with Mandrake 9.1 because of the dumbed down installer :disgust:. Seriously though, IMHO the last reasonably stable version of mandrake was 8.0. Ever since then, it seems that after that each version became progressively worse.
