Mandrake 8 install help

I have been unable to install Mandrake 8. I downloaded the ISO and burned. The installation kinda starts, but it gives me this error :

Loading Program into memory...
[*********************************************]
error in exec of stage2 :-(
Fatal error in stage1: I/O error
I can't recover from this
You may reboot your system

I havent tried the CD on another computer yet, but I will soon.
Any ideas why this is happening?

Are you trying to install from SCSI CD-ROM? That causes trouble. Try using IDE CD-ROM, or if you can't, you will need a special Linux boot floppy with SCSI CD-ROM support.

You can find some good information/answers about Mandrake in Mandrake User.

Make sure you're CDs burned correctly. Also, try to start the install from a DOS prompt if you have Windows. Can you get any Linux CDs to boot in your system? What is your configuration?

Sounds like you either got a bad burn or the download didn't finish. Compare file sizes from what you downloaded to the sizes on the site you downloaded from. I'm betting that's the problem though.
