Hi all,
I have a couple problems with my Mandrake 8.2 installation.
First, I cannot reboot or turn off the computer directly from Linux. What I mean is that when I reboot the computer from the K menu, the computer will just hang at the BIOS boot-up. I have a Compaq Presario 720 notebook. When booting, the Compaq logo appear, then the startup begins. When rebooting in Linux, it just hangs. I have to turn the computer off by holding the power button, which is annoying.
Second, I can't configure LILO to my liking. Even when editing the lilo.conf file as root, the LILO boot screen isn't changed.
Any tips on those two little problems?
Note: I do NOT have Mandrake 9.0 due to my snail pace 56k internet access. Thanks for your understanding.
