Mandrake 7.2 and Gnome/KDE question

This may be a dumb question, but here goes. I am running both red hat 7 and mandrake 7.2 on my system in a dual boot mode. I have KDE 2.0 and Gnome 1.2 installed in both. I do not use graphical login in either OS. In redhat, I can switch desktops using "switchdesk" without a problem. However in Mandrake, I can't figure out how to switch desktops. Can anyone tell me how it is done? I am thinking I can install the switchdesk app from redhat onto Mandrake, since mandrake is a red hat based distro. Will this work, and more importantly, is this the right way to go, or is there a more efficient way of switching between gnome and KDE in mandrake that I am not aware of? Thanks.

One could probably install switchdesk.

However, if you are not using an X login, you can just edit your '.xinitrc'.

I use 7.2 also but don't remember seeing anything about switching on the fly, but for some reason it seems like I was able to do it in 7.0 or 7.1.
I know not much help. when I need to switch desktops I logout and log back in- just lazy I guess

I don't know about desktop environments, but I switch from say blackbox to twm using the following:

killall blackbox; twm &
