Mandrake 10 and Win XP dual-boot

I'm attempting to set up a dual-boot configuration on my laptop (an Inspiron 8500). As I'm sure I'm going to screw it up horribly, I thought I'd pre-emptively create a technical support thread about it. 😀

Has anyone done this before on their own systems (preferably with Win XP and this particular distro, on a similar lappy)? Anything important I should keep in mind?

I'll be back later when I start having problems. 😉
