Mandatory Office Introductions

We have a rather extroverted security officer at my job. I was just "forced" to go make the office rounds. Rather than make casual businesslike introductions, because of my age, she played the part of "mother," having me greet people with "hi," + name + "." She then commented. "That sounded fake." And then I had to try again.

Wow.

Some people *must* be bored.

Well, I suppose I could have said no, but this lady acts like my mom.

And I learned that it was a bad idea to say no to mother figures unless they try to... do certain things... that mother figures should never try to do.
