mandated roll bars for convertibles

Why hasnt the US goverment mandated some kind of roll bar for convertibles. If the car flips over, the occupants could get crushed.

Thank god they haven't mandated roll bars on convertables, there are more important things congress could be discussing, they waste enough time as is it.

I know my mom's convertable has two metal poles that shoot out of the middle (sides) of the car if the vehical flips to a certain angle.

Wow that would seriously piss me off if they made a mandate about having roll bars in convertibles. If you are concerned about it, and have a convertible, good for you, install a roll bar.

As for the rest of us who aren't worried about it, and don't want to jumk up our work of art: leave us the hell alone, we don't need some self righteous politician trying to protect us.

Actually, they have and there are roll bars, both passive and active in all modern convertables sold in the US.

Maybe a google search is in order?
